not entirely unlike 1895

You're currently residing in the personal tumblr of a 20-year-old (basically aimless) student. My regular blog can be found here and that might be what you're looking for unless you find my mindless musings amusing. If you're looking for the restaurant at the end of the universe, it's at the other end. But welcome anyway.

“We always know when you’re trying to cook, B, because screams come from the kitchen.”

Ah, about that. I’m trying to learn how to cook. And those that know me might find themselves more than slightly afraid for two reasons. One, from the general concept that I’m clumsy to the point of being just barely competent (exaggeration, but an appropriate one). Two, from the well established knowledge that I have a 50/50 chance of managing toast and those are my odds on a good day.

Tonight: chicken pad thai.

Prognosis: edible, average, probably not going to kill anyone.

Despite the fact that I was already aware, I was still thrilled to find this email in my inbox today.

I’ll be going again, probably more than once. There are some friends of mine who missed it during the first run that I’m determined to drag along with me this time around.

  • I just bought a car, a little over six hours ago!
  • If I said she wasn’t named after a Sherlock Holmes character I’d be lying. However, I swear it wasn’t completely intentional.
  • I made use of said car and went to see War Horse with some friends. That was unplanned—I was in the area picking up something I’d left at work when I ran into them. It was a better movie than I had expected, if slightly too saccharine for my taste. The last bit of the film in particular. But (despite my complaints) I did admittedly find myself very engaged in the storyline, which is good. Happily for us, we were the only ones in the theatre. It’s always particularly nice when you can holler all you want at the film without being a bother to anyone, yeah?
  • And now I’m going to bed before I make any more ridiculous bullets.
